Former Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe was finally buried today in a very low-key ceremony in his home village. Mugabe who died in Singapore on September 6, aged 95, almost two years after a military coup ended his autocratic 37-year rule.

Saudi Arabia shunned Nigeria

Saudi Arabia shunned Nigeria for e-visa and visa on arrival. After revealing 49 countries, 
the commission explained that the tourist visa allows for a stay of up to 3 months per entry,
 while visitors are allow to spend up to 90 days a year.

I will waive my immunity


Professor Yemi Osinbajo, The Vice-President of Nigeria has reacted to the allegation of taking 90 billions naira from the Federal Inland Revenue Service during 2019 general elections.
This was disclosed by a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Timi Frank.
The Vice President quoted " I will waive my constitutional immunity" on this matter had it been it was true.

Is Nigeria one of the safest country in the world?

        In farm industry, Nigeria is ranked sixth in the whole world and first in Africa . The sector accounts for about 18% of GDP. 
        Nigeria as they say Africa"s giant is also known for its petroleum production and exportation as a major source of the nation's economy accounting for about 95% of foreign exchange income and 70% of government revenue. 
According to the Global Peace Index, which is a ranking of the safest countries in the world, gave a report  that  is published annually by the Institute for Economics and Peace. They determine which are the safest, while also ranking the most dangerous.
A total of 163 countries are featured in the report. There are 23 different indicators used to determine how safe or how dangerous a country is. 
Nigeria is ranked 137th as one of the dangerous country to live. The unnecessary killings by SARS, the kidnappers, the ritual makers, the ungodly prophets, the government policies, lack of freedom of everything. bad roads, poor electricity, hoodlum leaders and many more, make Nigeria as one of the dangerous country in the world.

Court declared Buhari as as the actual winner

The election petition tribunal on Wednesday (today) dismissed the petition by PDP against the election of Buhari, declaring him as the actual winner of the last presidential election on February 23. The Peoples Democratic Party has expressed its shock over the verdict of Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on its case against the election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the Feb. 23 election. Kola Ologbondiyan, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, said the party would appeal the judgment at the Supreme Court.


Evacuation starts in South Africa today

NIGERIANS START LEAVING SOUTH AFRICA


It was learnt that the first batch of Nigerians evacuated from South Africa will arrive today at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The President of the Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA), Adetola Olubajo, stated that the High Commission and consulate had given a figure of about 640 people who were scheduled to return, adding that the first batch of about 320 people would leave around 9am. The estimated time of arrival of the flight is 1:00 pm Nigerian time.

Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, South Africa’s Defence Minister said on Monday that the attacks against foreigners in South Africa were planned by criminals and that government can’t prevent it.

She quoted “The reality is that we have an angry nation. What’s happening can never be prevented by any government,” 

She said "it is not the first time we have had them in the past; here, we have criminals that have read the situation and are aware that we have challenges right now."

NYSC prevents 8 international graduates, some are blocked

The National Youth Service Corps Coordinator in Kano State, Ladan Baba, says not less  than 8 international graduates were refused to register due to incomplete and inconsistent documents and inability to defend degrees.
Ladan Baba revealed this during the passing out parade of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Corps members after their orientation course at the NYSC permanent camp in Kusalla, Karaye Local Government Area of the state.
He added that some of the graduates were also blocked online from registration as a result of failure to defend their degrees as foreign students after physical verification of their results.

The Founder and Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo has been finally dragged to court by Busola Dakolo, wife of Nigeria’s inspirational singer, Timi Dakolo,  over her rape claims. 
A FCT High Court had ordered the Pastor to appear before it within 14 days of the service or judgment may be given in his absence. this is dated from Sept. 6 in a writ of summons obtained on Monday by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)

Chairman of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, Justice Mohammed Garba will deliver judgment in the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the February 23 general election this week.The date has not been fixed but under the law, duration of the petition will lapse on Saturday September 14 as stated in Section 134 (2) and (3) of the Electoral Act, 2010, which provides the limited time for election petitions should be concluded within 180 days.

BREAKING: Ganduje gets ‘Best Governor’ award

As Nigerians normally acknowledge 100 days in office of State Governors,an African group of democrats under the auspices of African Democracy Assessment Network (ADAN), has selected Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, for an award.

South Africans Resume their Xenophobic Protests as 1 killed and 5 injured.

5 people have been receiving treatment at the hospital after a xenophobic march in South Africa turned violent on Sunday,as 1 killed local media reported. 
This broke out on Sunday when hostel residents across the commercial hub of Johannesburg took to the streets demanding  immediate deportation of foreigners, especially Nigerians.
The police said they intervened early enough to prevent the clash between South Africans and the foreigners in Johannesburg.
